Introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about you!

My name is Dawn Jones and I am the Founder of Pressed PR. I live in Colorado, so when I'm not working you can usually find me outside; either hiking, flyfishing, snowboarding, or camping in the mountains!

When and why did you start Pressed PR?

I started Pressed PR in 2017 because (as an independent musician myself) I wanted to find a way to champion other independent musicians within the industry. There seemed to be a market for innovative and modern PR companies that could champion new, independent artists with transparency... so I set out to create that. Since then, we have evolved. Today, Pressed PR works with independent filmmakers and creative brands in the entertainment industry in addition to musicians and artists.

Tell us about how music impacts your life?

Music has been a part of my life since childhood. I began by playing the violin, which opened my eyes to my current career path. Without music, I wouldn't have created Pressed PR!

Who are some of your favorite artists right now?

There are so many great artists out there that it's hard for me to narrow down! That being said, Johnnyswim, Maggie Rogers, Fleetwood Mac, and Noah Gundersen are always on my playlists. Some of my current favorites are artists that Pressed PR represents! Matthew Pinder, Corey Kilgannon, and Micah Edwards are just a few examples.

What is the best advice that you have ever received?

My parents always told me to believe in myself and not to be afraid to chase after anything that I want in life. It may be kind of cliche, but it's true! Half of the battle is mental... believing in yourself and pursuing your dreams unapologetically will take you further than you think. □
