What motivated you to make the career switch from working in politics to content creation?

I found the allure of content creation in its ease, convenience, and the opportunity to recreate myself from scratch in one of the most creative ways possible. I enjoyed my politics and social justice work, it would make me feel so drained. I plan to redirect my career to become more politically adjacent in the future, but right now, I enjoy creating lifestyle content.

How has traveling changed your life?

Traveling has completely changed the trajectory of my life. Like so many children who grew up in working-class midwestern cities, my understanding of the world was limited. Going to see the world for myself has been personally liberating and culturally significant in all the ways I show up. It has influenced what I eat, the way I dress, and how I consider my place in the world around me.

How do you avoid the effects traveling can have on one’s skin? Can you walk us through your skincare routine?

I am a skincare enthusiast who swears by skin cycling. I often use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant or Sunday Riley’s Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment to exfoliate my skin. Retinol is important because I’m in my 30s and want to maintain my skin’s elasticity.  I moisturize with snail mucin essence and all my Sunday Riley favorites. I love to use hyaluronic acid and a Summer Friday jet lag mask on long-haul flights. And, of course, I have to have my Korean beauty sheet masks!

You can be found on Pinterest styling some of the season's hottest looks. What fashion staples should everyone have in their wardrobe this fall?

  1. Blazers are so universal. They can forgive any outfit mistake, cinch you in, or create structure to a satin dress. For me, it is my universal must-have.

  2. Wide-leg pants are flattering on many body types (especially with a good pair of camel-tailored trousers).

  3. An impeccable colorful trench coat—I turn to Max Mara every time!

What is some advice you can give to aspiring content creators?

Have a life. Be interesting, and your content will become as interesting as you are. Have a point of view and care about the world. Most importantly, be consistent! Don’t let the algorithm stifle your creativity.
