Agape Design Group is an independently-owned and operated interior design firm managed by Principal Designer Elizabeth Ego. Her education at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)’s Interior Design Program equipped her to provide a remarkable design experience for her clients. Elizabeth has made it her mission to achieve the highest-quality, distinctive designs that are both elegant and timeless. Agape Design Group offers a full range of services, from new construction to residential and commercial projects. Elizabeth believes that interior design - above all else - must be appropriate to the architecture, the environment, and the clients’ needs.

What is one thing you believe every room needs and why?
Lighting is essential to every space, both aesthetically and functionally. We have all found ourselves in a space and been immediately struck by an ‘off’ atmosphere due to improper lighting; it disrupts the overall mood. It has the power to either elevate or diminish a space and its ambience. Since light fixtures are the ‘jewelry’ of a room, they can create dramatic finishing touches that emphasize the design. At the same time, good lighting suitably illuminates spaces for tasks at hand and designates purpose to the space.
What is your favorite thing that you have created for an interior space, and where did you get the inspiration to create it?
One of the features that I am most proud of is a unique kitchen island that I designed in our Peachtree project. Keeping my own young family in mind, I designed it to be a multifunctional centerpiece for the kitchen. With both an elevated countertop for food preparation and a table-height countertop with ample space for homework and other activities, it serves the needs of the entire family. Cooking and spending time with my young daughters has always been special for me, which drove my primary inspiration for this vision: to create a space that fosters and nurtures the closeness of family in an aesthetically-pleasing and functional manner. □
