LA Hair & Makeup Artist, Taline Chinian Hardenberg

Introduce yourself. How did you get started? What’s your story?

My name is Taline and I have always been obsessed with all things beauty-related. I remember YouTubing “how to do french braids,” and teaching myself from when I was nine years old. Looking back, I think that I always knew that I wanted to do something in the beauty industry. I was always “that girl,” who wore lots of makeup and never cared what anyone had to say about it. My makeup journey really started in middle school, when I discovered winged eyeliner.

What do you like about cosmetics? What is your favorite part about your job?

The beauty of cosmetics is that there are so many different options, all of which are tailored to the specific needs of both women and men. There is something for everyone. I love being able to transform myself and others by enhancing their naturally beautiful features.

What are your dream collaborations? Who would you like to work with in the future?

Some of my dream collaborations would be through PR packages of new makeup releases from brands such as Charlotte Tillbury and Laura Mercier, as well as different skin care companies, such as Tatcha, or Drunk Elephant.

What does your morning routine look like?

My morning routine always starts with coffee. I stretch, listen to music, wash my face, do my skincare routine, and, of course, start my makeup. I believe that my morning routine sets my day up for success. I feel like my most authentic confident self when I have my makeup on.

What are your top three goals for 2022?

Aside from my personal goals, my top three work goals for 2022 are: to expand the brands that I work with and not just be limited to makeup and skincare brands, to work with clothing/ swimwear companies (and anything else under the sun), and to focus on growing my social media platform and staying consistent.
