What is your favorite aspect of being a beauty content creator?
I wake up every morning, excited to walk into my makeup room! Personally, it’s my outlet for expression. Engaging with the community is even more fulfilling because I love seeing people empowered by my tutorials. Joining them on their makeup journey has become an incredible privilege.
Do you have any advice for filming the best video content?
My number one recommendation for filming is to get good lighting. Regardless of what type of equipment you shoot videos with, good lighting will really help your looks come to life. Secondly, you have to be consistent. I always strive to create a space on my platforms where my community feels safe and knows what to expect.
Can you tell us your #1 makeup tip?
There are so many useful tips to share, but I think foremost, my recommendation would be an application technique. Whether you’re using eye shadow, powder bronzer, or cream blush, you can apply all types of products more evenly if you tap and press your makeup into your skin instead of using swiping and dragging motions.
What was the inspiration behind starting Rose and Ben Beauty?
Rose and Ben Beauty, like most great ideas, started by trying to solve a problem. After literally creating thousands of looks with a whole array of products, I began to realize that I was struggling with some types of product application. I would think to myself, “if this brush had this or that modification, I would be able to either save time or utilize the product in a more effective way”. An opportunity presented itself where I could have a real, hands-on approach to design, and after testing my prototypes for over 2 years, we released the Rose and Ben Beauty Brush line.
Can you share a little bit about what makes the makeup brushes you promote and sell unique?
There are so many reasons that I feel Rose and Ben Beauty products are unique. Ethically, I knew had had to check off certain boxes before making any products. They had to be cruelty free, have FSC-certified handles, and manufactured with responsible practices making sure the artisans were paid a fair wage. Concerning the brushes themselves, they are hand shaped, uniquely blended, crafted with patented technology, and are manufactured with high grade material. In regard to design, I focused on the weight and length of the handle, how the brush picked up and released product, as well as the quality and blend of the fibers.
What is your favorite product you are currently selling, and why?
This is like picking your favorite child! Incredible thought and testing went into each one, so it’s a very hard question to answer. They all excel at what we designed them to do. Customer favorites, however, seem to be the C-41 Blush Brush and the E-27 Inner Corner Highlight Brush. If you’re having issues with a cosmetic product, one of our makeup tools can help can solve it!
Where do you see Rose and Ben Beauty in 5 years? What’s in store for the future?
One of my favorite parts of our community is when customers share their success stories with me on how our brushes have helped them. I would love to continue designing products that empower people to bring their makeup creations to life! I don’t want to give out too many secrets, but I have some great ideas regarding brushes and tools and we're going to expand our line to include cosmetics in the very near future. Stay tuned! □
