Frilliance Founder, Fiona Frills

Your Instagram evokes such confidence; how do you maintain this confidence and was there ever a time you greatly lacked it?

I lacked self-confidence as a kid when I had skin issues. I used to draw freckles on my acne. I never wanted to take pictures. You have to remember that everything on social media is curated - there is a lot to a picture - and you can't judge anyone through social media because people are showing the “highlight reels” of their lives.

How do you maintain friendships and balanced social life while being an influencer and founder of a successful beauty company?

I use FaceTime to talk to friends, which helps me multitask since I can get work done while chatting with friends. I check in with friends via text regularly and I take vacations to see them.

What serves to be your biggest motivator as a young entrepreneur?

A great motivator for me is the ability to show others that pushing forward leads to success. This is true even if you have learning issues. I’m dyslexic, yet I have achieved so much. Things like this shouldn’t stop people from reaching their goals.

Do you have any big projects in the works, if so, what are they, and what inspired them?

I am always coming up with and creating new products. I am looking into the haircare market now. I would like to add a shampoo and conditioner to the Frilliance brand.

If you could collaborate with any other brand, what brand would it be and why?

I would like to collaborate with a feminine-care brand. Young girls can find it hard to identify the right products to use, and I would like to help streamline that process. □
