Hi Amanda! Tell us a little about yourself. What is your history with makeup?
Hello, I’m Amanda Pavillard! I’m an actress, Content Creator, and, most recently, the founder of Radiate By Amanda, my new makeup collection! I’m 21 years old, but my obsession with makeup started before I can remember. Growing up with my mom, grandma, and two older sisters, someone always had a new lipstick or blush to play with. As I’ve grown up in the industry, my love for makeup has only grown. It’s something I talk A LOT about on my different social media pages. I love learning new things and discovering new products, and that’s always been a huge part of my platform.
How did you come up with the name Radiate for your makeup line?
It was really the message behind the collection that created the name “Radiate”. The Radiate Collection embodies a universal message of “becoming the brightest version of you”, letting go of the energy you no longer need and allowing your inner light to shine on those around you. This collection is about embracing yourself and showing how powerful you can be when you radiate your truest self into the world.
If you could only use one makeup product for the rest of your life, what product would it be?
Oh my gosh, that would be a very sad world … but I’ll do my best to imagine. The one product I don’t feel complete without would be my Perfect Pop Highlight in Golden Aura. There’s something about highlights that brings out the most beautiful glow from the skin. I think it makes the skin look more alive and healthy … I wouldn’t want to live without it lol.
What have you learned about yourself since becoming a business owner?
Since starting Radiate, I’ve learned a lot about so many things I never knew existed. The makeup/beauty industry is so much more complex than I ever understood. So many logistics go into releasing a product, starting a company, and building a brand. Going through all of this and starting Radiate has taught me that I am strong enough to take on the challenges that scare me. There is more to learn and do every day. That doesn’t so much scare me anymore as it excites me. I love all that goes into releasing a makeup line, and the more I learn, the more I want to create.
What is one thing you wish people knew about you?
I do my best to be the most open and transparent online, and I feel like people really can get to know me by doing this. That’s one of the coolest things about being a creator online; we’re, for the most part, in charge of our own narrative on our platforms. I would like to think that the people who follow me have a good sense of who I am, but I wish people understood that success in social media doesn’t make you invincible. I think people see young, successful creators online, and they think we have it all figured out somehow. I’m a normal 21-year-old going through all the typical 21-year-old things, along with all the crazy stuff on the internet. That can take a huge toll on your mental health when you feel like you have to be this perfect person all the time. That’s something I think most online personalities wish was better understood.
What are some of your long-term or short-term goals for Radiate?
There are so many exciting things coming for Radiate. I don’t want to give everything away, but something you can definitely look forward to is the second launch of Radiate Vol. 1 featuring individual products. We want to make Radiate accessible to everyone, including those who weren’t able to purchase the complete collection kit. Our long-term goals are to expand the brand as much as possible. Obviously, we have more launches and new products coming that I’m so excited to share. Every part of Radiate will always have a bigger message. I’m excited to grow this brand and community into something meaningful. Hopefully, one day, you’ll be able to walk into a store and purchase any number of products from the Radiate collection. I’m going to keep dreaming bigger with Radiate, always. □

Like the reliably and constantly shifting lunar phases, menstruating bodies experience subtle changes on a daily basis, resulting in significant transformations when perceived across the time span of 28 days. Within this timeframe, we experience phases of fullness - a desire to experience all that life has to offer - as well as phases that require rejuvenation and building ourselves back up to our full vibrance.
