Melina Mansing, The Tattoo Artist Behind Handpushed
When did you get your first tattoo, and what inspired you to start Handpushed? I remember it being very cold, snowing in fact. I was wearing a Fall TNA jacket with no gloves and probably some ripped jeans.
Design Duo Aly & Leigh of Pure Salt Interiors
Aly and I met as college roommates and both had dreams of entrepreneurship—she wanted to make something creative and I (a triplet) wanted to build something of my own, but we never thought we'd end up here. It took a lot of years doing our own things and trial and error figuring out how to create Pure Salt, but it's all come together as some never before thought of dream!
Rising Dawn Ceramics Founder, Kelsey Dawn
Who is your biggest inspiration? This question is surprisingly hard for me to answer. I have different people who inspire me for different reasons. My mother for her humor, my father for his wisdom, my partner for his empathy... When I think of who inspires me every day, especially in my creative space, I just see "her."
Nature-Focused Artist & Illustrator, Bronwyn Kelly
It’s funny because when I first started illustrating, I was so concerned with finding my style, and that actually prevented me from doing my best work. Rather than just getting into a state of flow and letting my creativity take over, I was thinking too much about what my art “should” look like.
Minimalist Tattoo Artist, Rosa Perr
How did you get started? I have always made visual art. I grew up in our father’s art studio in Greenwich Village. I was mostly painting and doing collage. One day I wanted a small tattoo and gave it to myself and more and more people started wanting them.
Defining Creativity with Sarah Grossman
I have made and been passionate about art my entire life; I went to art school and had such an amazing time. However, I knew pretty early on that I didn't want to be a working studio artist.
Illustrative Fun, Ava Wolf
Tell us about yourself and your illustrations. I am a self-taught, self-employed illustrator currently living in Nashville, TN, with my husband. My artwork focuses on mental health, anxiety, and life through somewhat of a "visual diary," in which I draw about my feelings and life experiences.
