Liz West Of Liz West Studio
How old were you when you first established your creative style? Light has always been a pivotal element within my life. Most of my earliest memories as a child were of discovering the world in a sensory capacity. I was attracted to objects, land and cityscapes, and spaces and fashion that were made of vibrant colours — the brightest tones and hues of strong saturation.
From The Founder: We Are H3R
Envision it. Two fifth-graders taking our neighborhood by storm. Armed with two dish rags and all-purpose cleaner. My childhood best friend and I journeyed around each block, determined to make cash from as many people as possible. What did we offer, you might ask? We offered to clean your mailbox for $2.00.
Easy and Casual Summer Outfit Inspiration
Outfit inspiration for June 2021.
Emmy Marie, Trauma Coach
I live an empowered life of joy, alignment, and security after surviving long-term abuse. But it hasn’t always been this way. When I was first recovering from my abusive relationship, I continued to perpetuate the abusive dynamics I was so desperate to leave in the past.
Narcissist & Domestic Abuse Counselor & Coach, Zoe Parsons
What advice would you give to women who are trying to become financially free? (that are leaving an abusive relationship). Often in an abusive relationship, we experience financial abuse, and this can make leaving that relationship hard. We are either financially dependent on them, or we don’t earn enough.
June 2021 Covergirl: Body Positivity Activist & Influencer Sarah Nicole Landry
Sarah Nicole Landry aka @TheBirdsPapaya is a divorced and remarried mom of four (newborns to teens) who loves cultivating powerful social media conversations around life and our experiences in it. Sarah is a body confidence activist, speaker, writer, 4x cover girl and weekly podcast host.
Founder of Evelyn Chick Projects Inc., Evelyn Chick
Success isn’t really about the number of sales you push monthly - I mean that would be great too, but with the growth and potential that we have built up in a short 6 months. We get a lot of large clients by referrals and they are often thrilled with our service and performance. That is also because I try to keep my staff motivated and happy, which in turn translates to the guests.
Rising Dawn Ceramics Founder, Kelsey Dawn
Who is your biggest inspiration? This question is surprisingly hard for me to answer. I have different people who inspire me for different reasons. My mother for her humor, my father for his wisdom, my partner for his empathy... When I think of who inspires me every day, especially in my creative space, I just see "her."
Houston Based Realtor & Author, Alexandria Bland
If I could share one piece of advice to someone who’s just starting out in business it would be to chase your purpose as opposed to chasing money. It’s so easy to see what seems to be making other people money and want to copy or join the bandwagon.
Mady & Scout of Okay Sis Podcast
Your podcast is absolutely amazing. What compelled you to start a podcast? I (Scout here!) had my own podcast years ago but it was becoming stale. I wasn't treating it like a business and wasn't the most strategic on messaging, growth, or community building.
Nature-Focused Artist & Illustrator, Bronwyn Kelly
It’s funny because when I first started illustrating, I was so concerned with finding my style, and that actually prevented me from doing my best work. Rather than just getting into a state of flow and letting my creativity take over, I was thinking too much about what my art “should” look like.
Minimalist Tattoo Artist, Rosa Perr
How did you get started? I have always made visual art. I grew up in our father’s art studio in Greenwich Village. I was mostly painting and doing collage. One day I wanted a small tattoo and gave it to myself and more and more people started wanting them.
Author & TEDx Speaker, Amberly Lago
After going through a near-fatal accident, surviving 34 surgeries to save my leg from amputation, and being diagnosed with a nerve disease dubbed “the suicide disease” called CRPS, I have learned a lot about resilience.
Mad Batter Cookie Co. Founder, Madison Jenkins
How do you measure success at your company? Mad Batter Cookie Co. originally began as a creative outlet. I’ve always loved baking and coming up with quirky and fun flavor combos (mad creations if you will). My family and I ran out of tummy room, so I started selling locally!
NASA Engineer- Missions Integration Systems, Joan Melendez Misner
What is the hardest part of being a mission integration engineer? Rewarding part? As a newer employee who started during the pandemic, the hardest part of my job is understanding and learning a new role all while working from home.
