The Humanitarian Crisis Facing Female-Owned Businesses In Afghanistan
Since 2001, 57,000 female-owned businesses opened in Afghanistan, providing 40,000 jobs - 45% of which were given to women - and grossing $66.8 million in revenue (Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry). Women made strides not only in business, but in sports, with the creation of the first all-female Afghan football team in 2007 (Sporting News, 2021).
Toxic Positivity And Why We Should Avoid It
Toxic Positivity. We are often told that, regardless of the severity of our situation, we must maintain a positive mindset and “look on the bright side.” Regardless of the intention, these sentiments can be degrading to others.

This month we are appealing to your “bougier” side, with a list of six boutique hotels to visit, located all over the United States. No matter what you are looking for on your city adventure, we have a destination for everyone.
When Seasons Change
When Seasons Change It creeps up on you. Silent & steady, unnoticed until it transforms into something bright & beautiful; beckoning you to relish in the shift. I have always loved the changing of the seasons. Winter relents to blushing Spring, who coyly insists that life will bloom once again. Summer wrestles Spring into submission with his heatwaves.
Strange Bird Beauty Founder, Tina Chow Rudolph
Tell us about your early stages when building the Strange Bird brand. The idea for Strange Bird came to me when I was pregnant with my first child... but it took me 4 years - and two babies - to finally launch in Nov 2019. For me, the early stages of entrepreneurship were like daily tests for my self-trust. Each day that I trusted myself was another step forward.
Samantha Espinal, Model
Tell us about yourself. I was born in Orlando Florida but moved up to Long Island, New York, when I was about two years old. I can say for certain that there really is nothing like living in New York. Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to do the next best thing; something that was always going to entertain me and I would never want to stop.
Singer-Songwriter, Neriah Fisher
What inspired you to become a singer-songwriter? Growing up, music was always my "safe haven," getting me through a lot of difficult experiences. Music became my "therapy"; through my music and songs, I hope that I can do the same for others.
Social Media Coach, Millie Adrian
Tell us a little bit about yourself. I had a pretty huge health wake-up call in August-September 2021. I realized that: 1) I wasn't taking care of myself the way that I should, and 2) I couldn't run my business alone.
Interior Designer, Emily Moss
Tell us about yourself and your career as a designer. My path to design was quite unconventional. Prior to starting my design business, I was an elementary school teacher. After having our second child, I quit teaching and began helping my husband in starting his construction company.
Founder Of Pressed PR, Dawn Jones
Introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about you! My name is Dawn Jones and I am the Founder of Pressed PR. I live in Colorado, so when I'm not working you can usually find me outside; either hiking, flyfishing, snowboarding, or camping in the mountains!
November 2021 Covergirl: Interior Designer, Becki Owens
What inspired you to start your particular journey? I have lived in Southern California for the last 20 years, which has had a big impact on my design style. Since my family and I have lived near the ocean for most of my life, my passion is creating fresh and modern spaces influenced by the coast. I still incorporate my California roots into projects across the country.
Artist & Interior Designer, Candice Luter
What inspired you to become an artist and interior designer? Although I had always been creative as a child, I grew up at a time when "entrepreneur" wasn’t a word; it might as well have been called “starving artist." It wasn’t until later on in life that I reconnected with my creative side, realizing that I felt stuck and unhappy in corporate America.
Love Her Wild Founder, Bex Band
Tell us about yourself. My journey began in my late 20s; at the time I was living an unhealthy and unhappy lifestyle in London. I found myself constantly switching jobs and struggling to find satisfaction at work. Desperate for a change, I decide to do something drastic: hiking 1000km, the length of of country of Israel.
Keynote Speaker, Host & Coach, BabbleOnBrooke
Tell us about yourself, as well as your career in entertainment and entrepreneurship. I love people; everything I have ever done has been centered around others. The majority of my career has been spent in the entertainment industry, whether as an International Award-Winning Host, TV/Stage Actor, or even a Fortune 500 Spokesperson.

Introduce yourself and tell us about your background. My name is Betty Brennan, Owner and Co-Founder of Taylor Studios, Inc, where we plan, design and build exhibits for museums, nature centers and companies. I grew up on a farm in the Midwest, where I learned to work hard, think independently and solve problems. As I finished my MBA in Marketing, I started my first business.
