December 2021: Spotify Playlist
Monthly Spotify playlist curated to be listened to while reading H3R's interviews with women in business.
From The Founder: Starting By Believing
Every December, I take a moment to sit and reflect. As part of this process, I always write down a simple phrase that resonates within; one that is symbolic of the new year to come. Last December, I wrote down, "2021: The Year I Believe In Myself."
Romance Novelist, Danielle Lori
Where and when did you first know that you wanted to become a writer? Unlike many other authors, I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer at a young age, regardless of the fact I seemed to have an effortless talent for it.
Philosophy Of Beauty
“Stop & smell the roses” – a common phrase coined in the 60s - echoes an ancient Wisdom; beckoning us to slow down & savor the present. Should we refuse to slow our pace, we casually pass many wonders in our hurry to “do” rather than “be”.
Let’s Talk Periods
Aunt Flow. Your monthly visitor. Shark week. Your period. However you refer to “that time of the month,” our periods are often a subject that we avoid having conversations about. However, in this day and age, we have more options available to us - and our bodies - than ever before; a conversation worth having.
The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year?
The holidays are often associated with pure joy and happiness; the music, the lights, the traditions, the food, the treats, and the gifts. However, this time of the year can bring feelings of depression, loneliness, anxiety, and isolation to many people, and for many reasons.
December 2021: Netflix Picks
If all you wanted for Christmas was more of H3R's favorite Netflix picks; you’re in luck! Here are our December faves - ranging from a Mariah Carey holiday musical to a Reggaeton singer's revenge on her high school classmates - no matter what, you'll be singing and dancing with your family all holiday long.
5 Women-Owned Businesses To Keep On Your Radar This Holiday Season
As Black Friday sales emerge and holiday season approaches, shoppers begin to fill their carts - physical and virtual - with products for their loved ones. According to Investopedia, the average American spends nearly $1,000 during the holiday season, between gifts, holiday items, and other expenses.
Brexton Cole Interiors Founder, Valerie Darden
Tell us about yourself and Brexton Cole Interiors. Well, first of all, thank you so much for this opportunity! Brexton and Cole are the names of my two sons… so I decided to name my business after them! I currently live in Virginia with my husband Jonathan and our two sons, but I grew up in New Jersey with my mother, who was also an interior designer.
Connecting With Influencer, Taylor Paul
Tell us about yourself. Some of my favorite things to do are to hang out with friends and family, partake in festivities, engage in fitness, watch TikTok, and read... but, as a married, working mother of two, I don't always have time for that anymore!

What is your background in art? Was there a specific moment when you realized you wanted to pursue an art career? Art is something that I have pursued since the beginning on all sides of creative. Daisy Jing Of Banish Acne
How did Banish get started, and what does it look like now? I developed my first pimple in the 3rd grade and I tried product after product after product. Salicylic Acid. Benzoyl Peroxide. Sulfur. Tea Tree Oil. Differin. A bunch of oral antibiotics that ended with ‘-myacin.”
Get To Know Amelia & Hannah, of Amēnah Designs
Introduce yourself to our audience. How did Amēnah come to life? In 2017, we worked together as corporate buyers in the downtown LA fashion district and quickly realized that we share a similar appreciation for fashion and textiles. We spent our days off sitting in coffee shops and dreaming up what would later become AMĒNAH.

Tell us about yourself and some of your passions. I was born into a very loving and nurturing family and raised on the East Side of Baltimore. You could always find hugs, kisses, kind words, and great seafood! I was and I still am a “girly-girl.” I loved to dress up and have tea parties with my favorite teddy bears and baby dolls.
