ARCHT. Designer, Illustrator & Artist
“I began my journey by studying Architecture at my university and finding that I liked to express my designs through hand drawing rather than using AutoCAD and other software programs. I always found that illustration and hand drawing supported my presentations and engaged the viewer for longer, which was exciting! At the beginning of 2020, I was moving to New York to continue my journey as an architect, but that’s when the pandemic hit. I was left unemployed and living with my parents in Scotland aged 25. This is when I decided to start my art business via my website and Instagram, sharing my paintings and drawings with everyone online. Eventually, it led me to earn a living through my art. I wanted to move to London to pursue my career further. I became an architectural illustrator at Foster + Partners and then onto a bid manager at Heatherwick Studio.”

One Year Later, H3R Explores Liz West’s Latest Creations
Liz West (b.1985) is a British artist known for her wide-ranging works, from the intimate to the monumental. Using a variety of materials and exploring the use of light, she blurs the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, design and painting to create works that are both playful and immersive.
Here Now
I am here now. Where the bluest thing is the sky and the trees are the greenest green I’ve ever seen. I am continually changed by this new place and all it entails.
Contemporary Abstract Artist, Liza Hathaway Matthews
My personal experiences play a very large role in my work as an artist. Wherever I am, I enjoy looking at everything as a painting and how would I capture it best. As an abstract painter, I look at things as shapes interacting with one another, the contrast of textures, and the colors that play within that particular image.
3D Artist, Eloisa Henderson-Figueroa
I knew that I didn't want a "normal" job from an early age. The arts were my favorite subjects; it just made sense for me to continue down that path through school and University. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew that it needed to be something creative and hands-on, not a desk job.
How Craftswoman Hazel Butterfield Tate Connects Eco-Consciousness, History, & Community Through Her Small Business
Hazel points to the scattered box in the corner of the room and says, “That's the world right there!” Her eyes smiled brightly; I could feel the energy of her sincere passion fill our conversation. I smiled, too, because I knew exactly what she meant.
Getting Bold With Photographer, Alisa Karin
Thank you! I fell for it very naturally. I have had my camera since I was fifteen, but, at the time, I didn’t use it much. Two years ago, I started taking close-ups of everything around me and I became addicted to details.
Into The Artistic Mind Of Emma Childs
To be honest, had I never thought of art as a career until the end of my undergrad at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I never really felt internal pressure to choose a career path; I always felt more comfortable letting it unfold and become clear as I got older.
Mother & Painter, Kapi Michalska
Hi! My name is Kapi Michalska, I'm in my early thirties, and I'm a Poland-based portrait painter, business partner, and Head Graphic Designer at a small advertising agency.
Outdoor Graphic Designer & Illustrator, Rachel Jung
My name is Rachel, and I am a graphic designer and illustrator, adventure addict, dog mom, and the face behind Rayco Design. While I am originally from San Diego, CA, I have lived outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, for the past five years along with my husband and two dogs. We love the South, but we are so excited to be moving this year to Red Rock, Utah.
Ann Marie Coolick On Developing Her Unique Painting Style
I've been painting exclusively with knives for about 15 years. I've always painted thick, but I switched to only knives when the time/energy required to keep brushes clean was too much especially when working out of a shared studio space. I never looked back and have since started painting with spatulas and even spoons.
How Kate Hickman Turned Her Passion For Art Into A Career
I was the "craft kid" growing up for my entire life, and art had always been my most passionate subject in school. There was something about getting lost in it; the painting, the process of creating. It's still a feeling that I can't quite describe, but I knew that it was my happiest state, so I wanted to chase that feeling for the rest of my life.
Lindsay Rapp Liang On Women’s Empowerment Through Art
I have been painting for as long as I can even remember. Like every child, I loved drawing and painting and doodling any chance I had any surfaces and colors around me. I think that as I grew older, that I just never stopped.
How Lainey Molnar Uses Her Art To Fight Stigmatization Of Choice
After 12 years of being self-employed and exploring several paths around fashion and social media, I started creating my now-signature illustrations while in lockdown in 2020. It only took a few months for them to go viral, and the rest is history. It's still unbelievable to say that I am a full time artist, but it feels like my entire life has led up to this point.
Founder Of We’re Not Really Strangers, Koreen Odiney
Koreen Odiney is a name you may have heard over the past three years, and for a pretty good reason. The 26 year-old model and photographer created a game that has become a media sensation, We’re Not Really Strangers.

Justina Blakeney started her career in 2009 with a lifestyle blog that she wrote from her living room. Her blog slowly morphed into a huge following on Pinterest, and eventually her design brand, Jungalow came into play. Jungalow offers bold and bright colors, unique patterns and textures.
Liz West Of Liz West Studio
How old were you when you first established your creative style? Light has always been a pivotal element within my life. Most of my earliest memories as a child were of discovering the world in a sensory capacity. I was attracted to objects, land and cityscapes, and spaces and fashion that were made of vibrant colours — the brightest tones and hues of strong saturation.

My name is Eleanor and I am in my second year at Durham University, where I am studying French and Spanish. I started making jewelry in 2020 after taking a gap year and wanting to carry on a creative pursuit in addition to my job at the time.
